I don’t normally read newspapers, mainly because I don’t subscribe to their "sky is falling" philosophy. But I do regularly glance at the headlines because they are often good for a laugh. Today was one of those days.

Let me set the scene for those that don’t live in Australia …

Most of the country is in the longest drought on record. Water reserves are low and people are praying for rain.

So what do you think happens when the rain finally falls? Do the papers run stories titled "Finally, The Rain We Need"? No. Instead, we get this headline on the front page of the Herald Sun (one of the main papers in Melbourne):

"Flooding And Chaos As Deluge Lashes Melbourne"

Guess some people are only happy when they are complaining!

I know you came here today looking for the answer. Well, I have some good news and some bad news …

First the bad news:

As with most things in life, it’s not a quick fix. In fact, I will probably spread the discussion over a number of posts (starting with the overview some time in the next couple of days).

Now the good news:

I’m evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.
